CORPUS Congress Centre streamlines the organization of corporate events with MICE Operations
CORPUS in Oegstgeest is known for its iconic “Journey Through the Human Body,” but it’s also home to CORPUS Congress Centre, a venue for business conventions, corporate events, and celebrations. All of this is pulled off by a tight-knit event team of just 5 people. With a team that small, it’s essential to work with software that keeps things clear and structured.
After using a different event management system for several years, the team noticed that added functionality wasn’t as seamless as they’d hoped. Simple feature requests often meant upgrading to an expensive package. CORPUS decided it was time to look for a solution that actually fit their day-to-day routine. They found exactly the clarity and user-friendliness they were looking for in MICE Operations. “It does precisely what we need it to do. Plus, it’s delightfully simple and clear,” says Kim, Manager Conferences & Events at CORPUS.
The transition was smartly scheduled during the quieter summer months. Sylvia, Junior Event Manager at CORPUS, explains: “The MICE team set up all our products in the system beforehand. All we had to do was double-check everything and start creating our first proposals.” This meant the team was fully primed and ready to hit the ground running as soon as event season kicked back into high gear.

From initial request to flawless execution
Behind the scenes, MICE fits seamlessly into the broader workflow at CORPUS. Salesforce is used to track different areas of the business, such as ticketing, guided tours, and events. For corporate events, incoming leads are pushed from Salesforce straight into MICE, where the event team develops them into tailored proposals and event run-sheets. A custom integration connects the two systems, with MICE actively contributing to the optimal setup.
Today, MICE is an indispensable part of the daily routine. “We customize every single proposal,” Kim explains. That’s where the digital proposals make a world of difference. “In the old days, clients had to print out the proposal, sign it by hand, scan it, and email it back,” says Sylvia. “Now? It’s just a single click to sign digitally. Piece of cake!”
Once approved, the team jumps straight into execution mode. The run-sheet is ready to go in MICE, and colleagues from other departments have access to the exact information they need through customized user roles. Everyone works from the same up-to-date source of truth.
Direct channels, swift support
Beyond the software itself, Kim particularly appreciates how MICE collaborates with their team. Instead of dealing with an anonymous helpdesk ticketing system, she has a dedicated contact person who responds fast. “You’re in direct touch with someone who actually knows your setup. It makes communication infinitely smoother.”
“Honestly, even without training, you’d probably figure it out!”
When recommending MICE to other event venues, the team always highlights its ease of use. While their previous software required a full three-day training program, a single one-hour session with MICE was all it took for them to hit the ground running independently. “It’s such a pleasant, clear-cut tool,” says Kim. “Honestly, if nobody explained it to you, you’d probably still get the hang of it in no time.”
For CORPUS, the true value of MICE lies in this combination of intuitive software and personal contact. The team maintains a total overview of requests, proposals, and run-sheets while relying on fast, friendly support whenever needed. It keeps the work structured and stress-free, even when every single event is completely different.
